Demelsa is a creative force to be reckoned with. Colourful and eccentric she likes to challenge societal norms in every way. She wears interesting clothing combinations topped with odd accessories like a feather boa or a swimming cap. She refuses to wear shoes. She insists on turning up to every social event and loudly complaining about how bourgeois it is. She claps her hands in delight when she makes another pinny blush and is amused when people find her scandalous. Her hands are capable and strong, knuckles swollen with age and fingers littered with large and funky rings. Her art pieces are unexpected, confronting and a little unsettling. She once donated a large piece to a school fundraising fete and it wasn’t until Rose fell about laughing pointing out it’s not so subtle phallic like shape, that Emma Kate covered it with a tea towel and Deborah kept humming the tune You Can Keep Your Hat On. Of course Demelsa was delighted and whipped out a notepad offering to take orders. If you enjoy a pinny who likes to buck the status quo, you might want to consider the colourful Demelsa. (Not her real name of course, it’s actually Dianne.)
All of our aprons are rescues and as such come to you showing signs of a life well lived. This may include mysterious stains, worn and faded parts and small tears or rips which tell of a culinary or domestic mishap. Each apron has a story to tell and although sometimes this is evident in a frayed hem or a well washed stain they still have plenty of love to give. All aprons have been lovingly laundered, ironed with lavender ironing spray, sometimes mended and very much loved.
